After a few minor wounds that some mosquito decided to bestow upon me in my
sleep, we were off to 'Glory Hour' - essentially a midweek fellowship for those
who are not busy in the day and do not work (and those who are wealthy enough
to leave their work to someone else while they come over). Evangelist Sam leads
the time and it consists of singing, testimonies and a short word. It was good
to be back in the 'home church'.
I like the style of the Orphanage - an enclosed compound, between Bishop
James's house and the church...a lovely 4 bedroom bungalow. If you want to see
more pictures, go to www.askof.org. This
evening, I went to visit a UK preacher called Sharon Miller - her theme was 'He
is the God who answers by fire' - this took place in Assemblies of God church
in North Kaneshie. This church has had children in it that have gone on to be
great men of God, such as Dr Tetteh and my dear co-worker Jojo. She preached
powerfully and I am keen to see her again in London. After she had finished, I
was asked to wrap up the service - there was a lot of people there
(approximately 800-1000) and it was all good.
Friday 10 April - the Easter camp has started and people have come from near
and far to the convention at Glory Cathedral. They stay at the church site and
then just attend the meetings, although I was fortunate to still have a
mattress to go home to at night. In the morning Jojo preached at Bishop's
church before jetting back to the UK. Again, it was all good. I tried to get
some money out of an ATM but failed miserably - in this fraud dominated world,
it is now apparently essential to tell your bank where you are going. The 'Big
Brother' society is fine - but I am resting in a far greater Big Brother
society - the one who will give His angels charge over me to keep me in all my
ways - amen and amen!
In the evening, there was a real convention atmosphere. It reminded me of a
Glory convention - with people just praising and praising God. I preached on
Revelation 5, the lamb who is worthy to open the scrolls and to sit on the
throne. It was a good meeting.
Saturday 11 April - This morning Pastor David Abazari came to minister as a
visiting speaker, and words of knowledge and prophecy accompany his ministry. I
was prophesied over and I would be keen to share the prophecy with you so just
ask if you are interested. I thought it was very powerful. Again, afternoon
naps and then church in the evening - tonight was an impartation of the Holy
Spirit night and I was in Acts 1:8, which was the message God had prepared in
my own heart before I travelled here. The mandate we have of being the
witnesses of God - a dear co-worker in the faith (who has since gone on)
expanded this part of the Bible to mean that we have an unction from God to
ensure that we 'declare His Glory among the nations'. It is the one commandment
that rings through the history of Christianity.
Sunday 12 April
I couldn't decide what Easter song to put here so I put two of my favourites.
Low
in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave He
arose, With a mighty triumph
over His foes, He arose a victor from
the dark domain, And He lives forever,
with His saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ
arose!
Vainly they watch His bed, Jesus my Savior;
Vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!
Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my
Savior;
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!
and........
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!
Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where's thy victory, boasting grave? Alleluia!
Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!
Hail the Lord of earth and heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail the Resurrection, thou, Alleluia!
We had a good morning service as we celebrated the one who now possesses the keys
to death and Hades. My preaching was followed by Ordination of two minsiters by
the Bishop. Bishop James was there in all his regalia - he gave the solemn but
scriptural ordination.
Monday 13 April - I woke up this morning and I have nothing planned today.
Pastor Richmond and his wife came to visit. The two highlights of the day was
that for dinner I was presented with my favourite dish in all of heaven and
earth, chicken and chips. The other highlight (but not for the locals) was I
witnessed my first equatorial storm - it beats anything I have ever seen
before. It was like a warm hurricane....but as soon as it was over, it was back
to normal. Didn't leave the vicinity today...the trip is slowly winding down.
Tuesday 14 April - I shall remember this day for the fact that I sat here and
just surfed the internet and had a big laugh with James and Theresa. In
the evening, I preached one more time at Pastor Abazari's church - again Acts
1:8. Tonight I preached in English with no Atwi or Gha interpretation. It was a
powerful time. Chicken and chips again when I return back. Can life get any
better than this?
