davidgreenows.jpgReflections on the Glory Holiday 2001

After several years of absence from a Glory Revival Convention, it was my desire and privilege to visit the 2001 Holiday Convention in Walton on the Naze this past summer. I must confess that I did wonder how I would adapt (a Glory meeting is different) and how I would be accepted. There was no need for any of my concerns as I found that I was warmly received in the love of God and felt immediately at home.

I was impressed in this first and in each gathering with the warm and hearty singing in which folk seemed to sing for the sheer joy of it. There was a beautiful unity in this ministry team as we all flowed together in the love, joy and peace of Jesus. There seemed to be a deep sense of the reality and nearness of Jesus as hearts sang and spoke their love for Him in an intimate way. It reminded me of the words of a chorus the Lord had given me some years ago:

Flowing together in the Spirit and the word. Flowing together in the blessing of the Lord. His love is in control. His power is making whole.  Flowing together in the Spirit and the word.

There was a precious flowing together throughout the days that I was able to be present. There were Glory marches, jumping for Jesus, shining faces, anointed testimonies and word ministry, stirred hearts with many prostrations before the Lord resulting from a blessed abandonment to the Holy Spirit. The atmosphere was Heavenly. There has been a criticism that the Glory Revival folk have no room for Bible teaching. I found this not to be true, as there were meetings specifically set aside for teaching in which I, along with others, had the privilege of contributing.

As I meditate upon those times of refreshing, I am reminded of the Scriptures in Deut. 8: 7-9, " For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of streams of water". God was speaking of the Canaan experience that He was bringing the children of Israel into. It is also a beautiful picture of our spiritual Canaan inheritance in Jesus.

God ever seeks to bring His people into something good where the streams of His blessing flow. Verse 8 speaks of the fruit of the land: " Wheat and barley and vines and fig trees and pomegranates". All typical of what God has for his people to feed upon: " Oh taste and see that the Lord is good". Verse 9 speaks of the fullness available to believers: " A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack anything in it".

God is giving more than we are receiving and all God's people are encouraged to enter in to the "Fulness of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ", Rom.15 v 29. I felt during those days at Walton that I experienced something of the flow, fruit and fullness that the Heavenly Father has for all His children who will enter into their Calvary - purchased inheritance.

I am deeply grateful that there are still people who are contending for the "much more" of God and for the Glory Revival anointing that touched and transformed so many of us 40 to 50 years ago. I have been testifying that going to a Glory Convention is like an experience of Heaven without the fuss of dying.

Enquire about Convention dates for next year and plan to be present. You will never be just the same again - Amen.
