You probably may be surprised that I am writing about the genealogy of Jesus. The genealogy sections are probably the most ignored chapters in the Bible. It seems on the surface to be just a list of names but when you take a very casual look at where Jesus chose to place...
What a challenge 2009 has been! God has been doing something new among us and the change has brought new challenges. Since we travelled at the end of May 2009 to the Convention in Wales, things have been different...
Prayer is oxygen to the recreated new man in Christ. Our spirits are united with the Holy Spirit to pray the will of the Father. All great men and women of faith have developed the habit of prayer...
The last year has been significant in the Glory family, since the prayer network was developed. After which there has been a closer contact between all of us.
In Mark 8:29 we read Peters words, “Thou art the Christ”. He knew who Jesus was but really didn’t know what Jesus’ mission here on earth was. He got full marks for his answer Jesus said, “Flesh and blood hasn’t revealed this to you but my Father in heaven”. That’s fine, but by the time we get to verse 33 Jesus is rebuking him as the agent of Satan. They bypass our mind and flow through our hearts. You know why I believe Cain’s offering was not acceptable – it was his work and he was expecting God to bless his work. I see that so many times, in my life, we go to God seeking His acceptance of that which we are doing. I have come to realise more and more that without Him we are nothing. Without Him we can do nothing. If you are struggling with anything in your life yield to God.
Throughout life we are forced to make choices. Some of them have a deep impact on our future. The wise man includes God in all his choices for without God we finish up old and unfulfilled. With God we have that direction within which leads to the fulfilment of His purpose for our living. Mt.6:24 says, “Ye cannot serve God and mammon”. Mammon in this verse means the world’s way of doing things; Jesus was warning us that walking with God as Christians is the only way to live. With the arrival in the world of Jesus, the message of the Kingdom was revealed to men. In the Amplified Bible the Kingdom of God is paraphrased as, “God’s way of doing things”.
What do you feel passionate about? What is it that makes you come alive? What makes your life worth living? The Bible shows us Jesus’ passion was for the condition of others. He died for you and me! He came to bring joy and gladness into other lives. Wherever He went joy and excitement broke out, people were set free from sin, sickness and oppression. He demonstrated God’s power in many unusual ways.
God’s call to us has several levels. First He calls us for Himself, this call is to introduce us to Him, to be a friend and to fellowship with Him. John 15:15,” but I have called you friends”. It was His choice John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. He chose us, He initiated the process. We either accept or reject this call but as John 1:9 says “He lighteth every man who comes into the world”, every one has a call. Mt.22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. The only choosing we can do is to repent of our sin ask His forgiveness and let His presence fill us. God then imparts His Holy Spirit in our lives and starts to establish His Kingdom within our soul.
The apostle Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus in Ephesians 1:17-23 to have the spirit of wisdom and revelation. He prays for the eyes of our understanding (heart) to be enlightened. That is the first step to receiving revelation from the Lord. As long as the enemy can keep you in ignorance he has you in spiritual darkness. The answer is to know the truth (John 8:31-32) . God says He has blessed us with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ. That is our position. This knowledge belongs to every child of God.
So often we ask God to bless the works of our hands but what God really wants is our hands. He wants your hands brothers and sisters. He wants my hands. He does not want our works. The works of God come via the Holy Spirit. They come by His inspiration: they come from the prophetic realm within us. They do not come from our minds, or from study, they come via the Holy Ghost direct to our mouths.
