Shanghai

Thursday 26th March, Shanghai

After spending a sort of interesting day in our twin school of Shenzhen (which wouldn't interest most of the readers here), I boarded this little baby. To sum it up, we completed the Basildon-Fenchurch (or Leamington to Birmingham New Street) street run in 6 minutes and 30 seconds...a commuter's dream.

I am not quite as committed as Merv/Speckled Hen John but I am a bit of a train buff. It would appear that this things soars based on magnets and has no track. When you haven't got track to produce friction, it makes you go faster. It is the friction that keeps us slowed down in our own lives. I need more love and power in my life to understand that He has made us one. Not this head knowledge that is, in some places, rammed down your throat but I need to know it in my 'knower/Noah' (Not sure how this is spelt but both apply as Noah represents the place of total trust in God) so that I can soar 450 KPH like this young babe of a train. If you see me in meetings or at work, quite often I am 'dashing around' as Doug quaintly once put it but to soar ensures I can't be slowed down by the friction that seeks to slow us all down.

 Friday 27th March, Xi'an

Yes it's true - I moved the distance from London to Athens in a day. Not on the train (see above) but by flying. I have come to see the Terracotta Warriors (I could have gone to the British Museum but begrudged paying them 15 pounds when I can come to see the rest for a mere 2.50). The first Emperor of China was desparate to be protected so he had approximately 7000 soldiers made to protect him on his death.

They are intricately carved and look nothing short of amazing but they are not living. They cannot re-act to the elements or to living circumstances. To him, it didn't matter. They would become real in the underworld. My Bible tells me that the spirit-man in me that never dies will be part of a much greater crowd worshipping one that was dead like the Emperor but is alive for evermore!

It is so good I have had to include it....keep reading it until it is plummeted into the depths of your spirit!

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. 13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters and GOD shall wipe away every tear.

Beijing tomorrow,
David
