Alan and Shirley are joint pastors of the Noak Bridge Christian Glory Fellowship in Basildon, Essex. They have three children, Andrew, Steve and Elizabeth, who are all married with children of their own. From a Brethren background Alan and Shirley came into contact with Glory Meetings at Northfleet in 1959. Despite their initial doubts, they were so affected by God’s love operating in the meeting that they invited a team from Henri’s Evangelical Revival Association (The Glory People) to hold a meeting in Basildon. The impact of this meeting led to a Glory Fellowship initially in Kingswod Community Centre Basildon and then in the blue room at the Palace Hotel Southend until 1977. 1978 was to be an eventful year at the Clacton Glory summer covention. The Central Hall Chapel now Noak Bridge Christian Centre became available and the Lord called Alan to be the the Glory People Charities Secretary. In 1992 Alan was able to take early retirement from his job as CAD & Office Computer Systems Manager at the Ford Tractor plant in Basildon. He and Shirley have since been full time spreading this glorious gospel of love, joy and peace in the Holy Ghost. Shirley works in the Glory office making sure your requests get a prompt response and providing an uplift to those callers in need of prayer and encouragement. They travel as evangelists leading the Glory countrywide traveling team at meetings and conventions countrywide and are home to lead the Basildon meetings each Sunday mornng at 11.00am..
